“Starbucks itself is a product of diverse global cultures: Starbuck’s customers, whether in Zurich or Beirut, are drinking an American version of an Italian evolution of a beverage invented by Arabs brewed from a bean discovered by Africans."

Patricia J. Campbell, An Introduction to Global Studies

This year students will develop a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the diverse regions of Asia and Africa. Students will investigate the global issues of these regions and discover how those issues connect and/or divide nations of the world.

Students will analyze a variety of viewpoints and perspectives as they engage in inquiry-based activities that promote the development of research, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in the social studies classroom.
