Welcome to Mrs. Pulaski’s Room #122 E-mail address: jpulaski@trumbullps.org

Hi to all my Head Start Families! My name is Mrs. Pulaski and I will be your child’s teacher in the full day wraparound program at The Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center. It will be my fifteenth year in the full day program. I have previously taught kindergarten in Trumbull as well. I am so excited to be able to work with your child to help him or her reach their full potential.

In just a few more weeks, I will meet all my new families and reunite with my returning families during our scheduled home visits. It will be a short, but very important meeting for you to introduce your child to me as well as for them to see me with you in their most comfortable place to be, their home. I will ask you and your child some questions about their favorite things and remind you of some very important dates and items that will be required to assure a smooth transition into Head Start. I will also be able to answer any of your questions about the program and the upcoming school year.

In our classroom, we combine the traditional Head Start creative curriculum with the Trumbull Board of Education’s preschool curriculum designed to meet all state standards. As a three year old, your child will be introduced to a safe and caring environment within both a structured learning and play setting. As a four year old, your child will be continually challenged to master previous skills and acquire those necessary to succeed in kindergarten. Traditional themes and units are blended with student interests in a fun, interactive, hands-on approach that keeps little hands and minds engaged in literacy and math centers as well as structured activities and lessons in music, art, speech and language, and social skills. Plan on attending our monthly Head Start parent meetings where you can learn more about upcoming activities in the classroom as well as field trips, special events, and volunteer opportunities to get involved in your child’s preschool learning experiences.

Now is a good time to take a family picture for your child to bring to school to add to our “Family Tree” as we get to know one another and learn “All About Me” in our first few weeks of school. If you do not have a picture, we will take one with you and your child during orientation week when you bring your child to school for assessments. My goal is to have all families represented on our “Family Tree.” I am looking forward to seeing all of you in the new school year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pulaski
