Rubrics by December 11, 2026
Complete the Referral Form for the Visual and Performing Arts Identification specifying the area(s) of visual and performing arts that you would like the student to be assessed.
A teacher, parent, student, or peer may complete the referral form within or outside the district.
Parents will complete the Permission Form for the VPA Assessments. ( A Link is on the permission form )
*As Permissions arrive, checklists will be emailed to staff

IDENTIFICATION PROCESS
Students who score below the identification range on either a 1st- or 2nd-screening checklist will receive a letter of non-qualification, and the identification process ends.
Students who score within the identification range on either the 1st or 2nd screening checklist will be notified, including the date/time and preparation needed for the identification audition, if the TCESC completes the Assessments by November 12, 2026, or sooner.
Districts will notify students of the due dates if they are completing the assessments.
Students being assessed in Visual Arts will be required to submit a portfolio of 5 works, each accompanied by an Art Reflection Document.
Students being assessed for Dance will be required to prepare a performance and complete a Dance Reflection Document for the audition.
Students being assessed for Instrumental or Vocal Music will be required to prepare a performance for the audition.
Students being assessed for Drama will be required to prepare a performance for the audition.
Districts may elect to assess students at their home schools, with the schedule to be determined by each building. The District will communicate the dates students will be assessed.
Districts may also send students' artwork to the TCESC for assessments.
Music referrals at the TCESC will be evaluated at the end of November (date to be determined later and communicated)
Artwork and Response sheets for the TCESC should be dropped off (date to be determined later and communicated)
Artwork must be ready for pickup at the TCESC to be determined
Any artwork left at the TCESC will be returned to your school
Auditions and Portfolio Results will be notified to Districts and Families by January 4, 2027
