Carissa (she/her/hers) has over 20 years experience as a speech-language pathologist specializing in voice, swallowing, and upper airway therapy. She has trained and worked at the Emory Voice Center and the Evelyn Trammell Institute for Voice and Swallowing. Carissa has pursued advanced training in treatment approaches for Parkinson's, gender expression, instrumental breath conditioning, and accent modification. She has presented at the national and international level on the subjects of incorporating technology in voice therapy, adherence, group therapy, treatment of muscle tension dysphonia, mindfulness, and meditation. Outside work, she loves to cook, sing, read, spend time with her family, and practice yoga. She is a certified and registered yoga teacher and mindfulness coach and often incorporates those skills into her speech therapy programs.
