We've started the new year of 2025 by practicing brushwork skills with watercolors. Younger artists practice working with "Mr. Brush" carefully and softly to develop secure painting habits. As students get older, they learn about various brush skills they can apply to their work.
I hope winter break was relaxing and fun for you all! I am excited to get back to the studio and create with our Norton Cats!
Save this site, it will be updated every week at Andrews with current information and what our art classes are working on
You can always reach me by email...jstemaly@trschools.org
Our clay keepsake ornaments are still available for a donation. Remember all proceeds benefit the TR food site. I have noticed some kids this week have brought a donation and said they are using some of their Gingerbread shop money and they plan to use their ornament as a gift. I think that is a great idea!
Some groups are still working on finishing glazing this week to try to get them ready for holiday break.
Students apply modeling skills to clay keepsakes they will sell to learn about how they can help their community with their art skills. Most classes will be glazing their work this week and we are getting close to finalizing the keepsakes.
Andrews and Norton split and rotate art and music weeks.
1/6 and 1/20 the first weeks of Art in 2025!
*then alternating back and forth; see below for what days your student(s) have art class when it's an art week.
Your child has art either 2 or 3 days a week every other week. See below for when you child's class has art.
*Please note, this switched after Christmas break...so if you child had art or music on MWF they now have it T and Th and vice versa. Below is the updated schedule for the remainder of 2025.
