  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University

My name is Mrs. Kelly Hufty. I have been teaching in the Lincoln County R-III School district for 17 years now. I taught 1st grade for three years and I currently teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and have been for the last 12 years.

My husband and I have been married for 16 years and we have two children. Our son Connor was born in 2011 and our daughter Claire was born in 2014. We enjoy spending time outdoors, playing with our Labrador dogs Daisy and Coco, and spending time with each other.

I am so very blessed to work with a WONDERFUL ESL team. Mrs. Anna Gilbert is amazing and she covers NGC and TBHS English Learner (EL) students. Mrs. Lonni Long and Mrs. Diana Chavez Torres are a dynamic duo and they cover the Middle School EL students. Finally, we have the three amigas, Ms. Istre, Mrs. File, and myself covering the elementary EL students at Main Street Elementary.

I love my coworkers and I love my students. Thank you so much for allowing us to work with them and help them acquire the English Language!

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Missouri Baptist University in 2003
  • Master’s Degree in Teaching and Curriculum from University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010
  • Early Childhood (Birth to 3rd grade)
  • Elementary Education (1st to 6th grade)
  • TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Birth-12th grade
  • Adult ESL 2012-2015

My name is Mrs. Diane File. I have been a full time teacher in the Troy R-III School District since 2004. In 1998, when my youngest child started Kindergarten, I became a parent volunteer in my children’s schools and then started substitute teaching in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. I enjoyed it so much that I finished my Degree in Education. I soon realized the need for teaching the brave and courageous non-English speaking students attending our schools. I wanted to serve the needs of all of our students, so I pursued the TESOL Certification. In 2012, I also became certified in teaching adult ELLs, so I taught evenings at St. Charles Community College.

I am blessed to have such a rewarding and important career serving the needs of all students and families. I am so fortunate to work with the best ESL (English as a Second Language) team at Main Street Elementary-Mrs. Hufty, Ms. Istre, and myself.

My name is Ms. Migdalia (Miki) Istre. I have been a Paraprofessional for many years in different states. I started working as a Personal Paraprofessional for the Lincoln County R-III School District in August 2015 in First Grade. In 2017 I had the great opportunity to become an ESL (English as a Second Language) Paraprofessional and Interpreter for the school district.

I live in Troy, Missouri and I have a 15 year old miniature pinscher dog named Prince. He loves to go for walks and he likes to cuddle with me when I am home. My favorite activities when I am not at school are: call my dear family, go to the gym, practice yoga, and I love to dance.

One of the most valuable things about school is my amazing ESL team. We communicate on a daily basis to make sure our ESL students have the greatest opportunity to learn and strengthen their English language so that in the future they will be successful people in life.

For me it is very important to maintain an open communication with our students, their families and faculty regarding student performance.

I want to thank you infinitely for trusting me to help and guide my dear students, you, and our community.
