On June 22 2025 Troop 167 launched their weeklong adventure with an early Sunday morning meetup at the church, where Scouts packed the trailers and boarded the vans for Camp Bowman. The week opened and closed with traditional campfire ceremonies, framing a packed schedule of fun, skill-building, and camaraderie.
Scouts earned a variety of merit badges throughout the week, from aquatics to crafts to survival skills. First-year Scouts took part in Bowman Brigade, where they learned essential camping techniques like fire-building, cooking, and basic navigation.
Troop 167 cooked and prepared their own meals, developing teamwork and outdoor cooking skills along the way. They also took pride in keeping their site clean and inspection-ready—demonstrating focus and responsibility every day.
A standout event was the SPL Hunt, where the troop successfully found five Senior Patrol Leaders, claiming victory—and a watermelon—as their reward.
Thursday night brought the troop’s own lively campfire full of skits and stories. Friday night delivered some rain, but it didn’t stop Scouts from enjoying the closing campfire or winding down the week in good spirits. And before the weather rolled in, the troop capped off the day with a well-earned pizza dinner.
The trip wrapped up Saturday morning with a return journey that was mostly smooth—except for one memorable moment. Let’s just say, for certain reasons, the van will now be permanently stocked with cleaning wipes and air fresheners.
All in all, it was a week full of growth, teamwork, and laughs—a true Troop 167 success.
