January 24-25
The annual ski trip is planned for the end of January in gorgeous Maggie Valley, NC. Scouts and adults can either ski or snow board, plus take lessons if they’d like. We’ll meet at the Scout Hut at 5:30 Friday evening, and plan to leave no later than 6pm. Travelers should eat before departure and BRING A SLEEPING BAG.
The cost of this trip is higher than a camping trip, but it’s still a great deal. It includes the hotel, breakfast, a lift ticket, ski equipment plus a helmet.
Scouts will also need to be prepared to pay for lunch at the slope and dinner on the way home. Food at the slope is a bit expensive, so you might want to send about $25 to cover meals. Please bring $5 for your driver’s gas.
Be sure to download, print and sign the waiver and rental agreement. Then, take a look at “What to Expect”. You will find them on the Resources page.
If you have not signed up yes, you can do so now. Please make payment by Tuesday, January 21st.
Common Sense, it’s one of the most important things to keep in mind and practice when on the slopes. The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) believes education, helmet use, respect and common sense are very important when cruising down the mountain. NSAA developed Your Responsibility Code to help skiers and boarders be aware that there are elements of risk in snowsports that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce.
