Climate change adaptation
Climate change will give Trondheim a warmer and wetter climate in the coming years. In the work with climate change adaptation, we focus on how our society can adapt to a changing climate and reduce the risk for climate-induced damage. Trondheim municipality has adopted a thematic plan for climate change adaptation, which will be central in the process of making Trondheim robust to face climate change.

Trondheim municipality has adopted a thematic plan for climate change adaptation, building on the strategies for climate change adaptation in the municipal sub-plan for energy and climate. The thematic plan contains a climate vulnerability assessment for Trondheim, and an action plan with adaptive actions that will be implemented during the periode 2021-2023, with the goal of making Trondheim a climate-robust city. A short version of the plan is available in English.
The plan was adopted by the city council on 3rd February 2022.
