Triple Shine Foundation NPC was founded in 2016 by Sharon Rapetswa as a sustainability social impact social entreprise that developed a turnkey refill solution aimed at reducing household consumer waste through refills and reuse of packaging. Triple Shine partners with brandowners, Eco Soap Bank and soap manufacturers to create job opportunities for youth and women in marginalized communities. Through its partnership with Eco Soap Bank and local soap manufacturers Triple Shine collects raw soap scrap material and hires women and youth as soap makers to make soap bars that are distributed at affordable pricing to other Non Profits and to women and men sales agents who own Spaza shops in rural and township areas in Limpopo province.
Since the opening of the Dendron soap recycling factory in 2020 our factory has created employment of more than 120 000 hours of work for more that 60 people in direct fair wage jobs and has provided more than 2 million bars to NGOs. Our six refill Spaza shop partners are equipped with essential product refill dispensers to sell you the best quality brands of products such as dish wash liquid on pour and pay basis. Our staff of 30 soap makers are here to support your mission and unlock your inner shine with our hygiene soap bar products.
What We Do
Local Reach:
Soap bars and hygiene products are supplied to schools, ECD centers, charities, and rural clinics.
Products are also distributed via micro-franchise networks (empowering women to sell in their own communities).
Wider Impact Programs:
Thushang Basadi: Supporting rural mothers with micro-business opportunities.
Soap for Girls: Providing dignity packs (with soap and hygiene items) to schoolgirls.
Rural Water & Hygiene Systems: Ensuring clean water access accompanies soap provision.
Eco Soap Bank Hub:
Acts as the South African distribution hub for recycled soap under the Eco Soap Bank global initiative.
Eco Soap Recycling:
Collects discarded or surplus soap (from hotels, factories, and partners).
Cleans, sanitizes, and remolds into safe, usable bars — often shaped into “SoaPlay” (fun, toy-like soaps for children).
Produces affordable detergent and hygiene products locally.
Job Creation:
Women from disadvantaged communities are employed in the manufacturing process.
They are trained in soap-making, packaging, and quality control.
Plastic-Free Pilot (Spaza Shops):
Customers bring their own containers to refill soap, detergent, or cleaning products.
Products are sold by weight, reducing single-use plastic waste.
Supported by Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa.
Community Engagement:
Educates communities about sustainability.
Encourages behavioral change — shifting away from disposable plastics.
