In the Lower School, our summer reading challenge:
Centers around a theme.
Includes booklists appropriate for each grade level.
Incorporates critical and creative thinking.
Helps students make connections to books, to authors, and to the world.
Strengthens us as a community of readers and learners in the Lower School!
Select at least 1 book from your child's grade level booklist.
Of course, you can read AS MANY books from this list as you want!
We encourage families to read together - even if your child can independently read on their own.
Shared reading and listening experiences are important for readers of all ages.
Plus, it's fun to share a book together! Oh, and don't forget the pets!
Students will share what they read from their booklist in our first library class discussion in the fall.
We always have a good time sharing about the books we've read over the summer and seeing which books each student and family read!
Students add their favorite book from the booklist to our DINO-MITE READERS BOOK CLUB WALL!
Have fun with the optional activities and challenges on this website!
These are not required projects but are optional activities, challenges, or choice boards available to do, if you want to.
WAHOO! You're part of the LOWER SCHOOL DINO-MITE READERS BOOK CLUB!
Keep reading and discovering books from your booklist all summer long!
