Trinity Lutheran Church was founded in 1989 as a daughter congregation of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church, Hendersonville, thus giving the Missouri Synod a presence in Polk County, North Carolina near the South Carolina line. A leading retirement area in the United States, we are committed to people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
For many years the flock of Trinity met in the Seventh Day Adventist Church building on highway 108 in Lynn until it purchased a former fish camp along the river in the Pacolet Valley. The building was transformed wonderfully into a sanctuary with an office and several small meeting rooms. In 2006, an addition that seats about 70 people was built on for parish activities. The park-like setting is a perfect resting place for all travelers whenever they pass through the area. Picnic tables are available beside the river.
In addition to the eternal welfare of souls, we are also concerned with aid to the needy. We currently support Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry of Columbus, which gives generous help both to local folks and people passing through the area who find themselves in need.
Trinity Lutheran Church is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, belonging to the Southeastern District. It exists to spread God’s kingdom by the preaching of His Word and administration of His Sacraments; to demonstrate Jesus’ love and compassion to the needy and downtrodden with physical and spiritual help; to build one another up in faith and love; and to shine forth with the truth of the Gospel as clearly taught in the confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

What a difference a week makes!
How wonderous and glorious was our first worship service in the restored church on December 21, 2025! There are obvious things that still need to be done, but there's nothing like "home". We'll have a re-dedication service sometime in 2026 when the building is completed, so stay tuned.
Hope you come and worship!

It's been over a year since the devastation of "Helene" in 2024 (read the article below). The Faithful of Trinity Lutheran strapped on their boots and gloves to restore the church to her former glory. The past year has been difficult, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Sanctuary is now the focus: painting, carpet, and tiling is complete. The beautiful stained glass windows have been installed. Pews are in the sanctuary, but have not yet been placed as the ceiling beams still need to be wrapped. The organ and piano have returned home. The kitchen is beautiful complete with upper storage cabinets. We have heat and running water. A new deck was built on the back to enjoy bon fires and fellowship. The church will not be 100% complete when we return to worship, but we WILL be in the building!

Trinity Lutheran Church is a small confessional congregation of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod located in the picturesque Pacolet Valley three miles west of Tryon on the road to Saluda.
Built on the bank of the little Pacolet River with mountains all around, Trinity is surrounded by beauty, a fitting framework for the saving Gospel that is proclaimed within its walls and for the Lord’s Supper celebrated there.
The members of Trinity lift up their eyes unto the hills. From whence comes their help? Their help comes from the Lord. They are like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not whither.
A biblical and liturgical church, Trinity draws its members from Polk, Rutherford and Henderson Counties in North Carolina, as well as from Spartanburg and Greenville Counties in northern South Carolina. Locals and transplants from the North are united as one in the saving Blood of Jesus Christ.
Trinity Lutheran Church Is Gathered by God’s Grace, Committed to God’s Word, Faithful in Worship, Focused On Forgiveness, Acting In Love, Sharing The Gospel, Giving God The Glory!
Lutheranism is not "a confessing movement within the Church universal"; it is the confessional movement of the Church universal.
