Mrs. Engebrecht Fun Facts!

• I grew up in Broomfield, CO (Between Denver and Boulder).

• I attended the University of Colorado - Boulder and received my B.S. in Civil Engineering.

• When I graduated college, I applied to the Deaconess program through Concordia Theological Seminary - Ft. Wayne. I graduated with my M.A. in Deaconess studies and was commissioned as a Deaconess in the LCMS.

• In the 2025-2026 school year I taught 5th-8th grade at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School in Broomfield, CO.

• My husband and I met while I was on my Deaconess internship in Illinois. We got engaged and planned a wedding long distance while I taught in Colorado. We were married May 30, 2026 and I moved to join him here in Cedar Rapids!

• I love music, especially playing my cello. I also crochet, cross stitch, and love taking care of house plants. 

Classroom Philosophy

I am looking forward to jumping into this school year and getting to know the students and families! I strive to make sure that my classroom is an open place to express curiosity and take chances. The best way to have this openness is to be respectful of one another and embrace challenges when they present themselves. Challenges push us to grow and failure helps us to learn. However, this is only the case when we take accountability and continue to strive for excellence. I am here to help in any way I can and I encourage open communication from both students and parents so that we can work together to grow this year!
