Onboarding for Digital Citizenship and Online Learning
"Your health is YOUR wealth. Whatever health means to YOU, one thing is for sure- without it, you can't make progress in all OTHER AREAS of your life!"
Dear Year 9 Students,
The three modules are expected to be completed at your pace over the first week. The resources and artifacts can be referenced as needed throughout your online studies. It is our hope that you practice and extend what you learn about wellness and digital citizenship as you progress through your online learning.
Yours in Wellness and Digital Citizenship
What is Digital Citizenship?
A digital citizen refers to a person who has the knowledge and skills to effectively use digital technologies to communicate with others, participate in society and create and consume digital content. Digital citizenship is about confident and positive engagement with digital technologies.
What is Digital Wellbeing?
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity" (WHO; Martino, 2020). Digital wellbeing is the act of integrating positive social, emotional and physical dimensions as a digital citizen and as a part of an online environment in a globally connected world.
