ANNOUNCEMENTS
Trinity has selected the focus for its next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). After an extensive topic development and selection process, two ideas clearly emerged as priorities for our community: Career Everywhere and Work that Works.
The Topic Selection Committee gathered feedback from 118 members of the Trinity community, including 50 faculty, 38 staff, 26 students, and 9 alumni (with some overlap between alumni and faculty or staff). Of those respondents, 78% identified either Career Everywhere or Work that Works as one of their top two choices, reflecting broad enthusiasm for both ideas.
Because both topics generated strong interest and aligned closely with Trinity’s priorities for student learning and post-graduate success, the Topic Selection Committee and the Executive Leadership Team concluded that they could be most powerful if developed together.
The next step will be to assemble a QEP Development Committee composed of faculty, staff, and students. This group will design the combined Career Everywhere / Work that Works QEP, including a multi-year project plan, to present to university leadership.
Thank you to everyone who contributed ideas, time, and feedback to this process. Your engagement has helped shape an initiative that will strengthen the Trinity experience for our students.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) periodically reviews and updates its accreditation standards. As part of this process, SACSCOC has placed the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) in a “study period” through December 2026. While this study period affects QEP submission requirements for institutions under review in 2026, it does not impact Trinity.
Trinity remains fully committed to the purpose and principles of the QEP and strongly believes in its role in advancing student learning and student success. Although the future of the QEP is uncertain, we have chosen to continue moving forward with a meaningful QEP initiative that aligns with institutional priorities and supports continuous improvement.
In light of this study period, Trinity’s QEP committee has adjusted its timeline. During the 2026–27 academic year, the committee will focus on planning and piloting the selected project rather than preparing a formal report for SACSCOC. Full implementation of the project is anticipated to begin in the 2027–28 academic year.
