Trinity University is proud to host the Healthcare PRISm Pitch Competition, a virtual event challenging healthcare management graduate students to exercise transformational leadership and fuel innovation within the healthcare industry.

Healthcare's Problems Require
Innovative Solutions

Healthcare PRISm prompts students to explore, identify, and validate current challenges and problems in healthcare.  Each team, comprised of 2 to 4 students, independently develops an innovative solution to their identified problem through human-centered thinking and creative problem solving.

How Healthcare PRISm works

Step 1: Innovation

Throughout the Fall Semester

Teams of 2 to 4 students will form and begin the journey of identifying, exploring, and solving a specific problem that they select relating to healthcare.  Throughout this period, students can access a variety of Healthcare PRISm resources, providing guidance and tools to help students:

Step 2: Selection

Entries due in November

Each team will submit an entry for their innovative healthcare solution, with applications accessible here.  Entries include:

Entries will be evaluated and grouped into broad problem categories (e.g., patient experience, care navigation, social determinants of health, etc.).  Selected teams will then be invited to further develop their concept and pitch for the Healthcare PRISm Pitch Competition, a virtual event in early February.

Step 3: Competition

Early February

Invited teams will develop pitch decks that they will present virtually at the Healthcare PRISm Pitch Competition.  In the weeks prior to the actual competition, each team receives individualized coaching from healthcare innovation experts, providing meaningful guidance to help teams advance their concepts.  The competition itself includes:

We imagine Healthcare PRISm as the start - not the ending - to teams' creative solutions and innovative efforts.

What Healthcare PRISm Embraces

Diverse Problems

Healthcare suffers from a myriad of problems; leaders must be able to identify and deeply understand the many challenges they face.

Healthcare PRISm allows teams to consider a wide array of problems, asking students to self-select, validate, and curiously engage the specific problem that resonates with them.

Desirable Solutions

Healthcare solutions must be more than just technically feasible or fiscally viable; meaningful innovation must also be truly desirable.

Healthcare PRISm promotes creative problem solving from a human-centered approach, valuing empathy-driven solutions that deeply resonate with those experiencing the problem.

Bias for Action

Healthcare can't wait for disruption to come from outside; tomorrow's leaders must be ready to transform the industry from within.

Healthcare PRISm embraces a spirit of intrapreneurship, applying entrepreneurial principles to exercise innovation within today's leading healthcare organizations and systems.

Ready to start your journey?

Today's healthcare problems require innovative solutions, demanding leaders who approach challenges with empathy and creative confidence.  Healthcare PRISm equips today's healthcare management students to develop as tomorrow's healthcare leaders, fueling transformation and creative problem solving to disrupt the status quo and direct healthcare's future.  Let's begin!
