We want to take this opportunity to thank you for agreeing to serve as a preceptor for the Practical Nursing (PN) Program at Tri County Tech. Your commitment to helping our PN students transition into the workforce is important to their success. We appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and expertise with a student who may be taking care of our families and assisting them in reaching their optimal level of health and well-being. The purpose of this website is to provide you with information on the purpose of the preceptorship clinical, regulations governing clinical experiences, preceptor roles and responsibilities, and our program policies. Please read the information provided and let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

The student must complete a minimum of 120 clinical hours, spanning a 6-week period.
For the December 2025 cohort, the following dates are available for scheduling the preceptor experience. (Note: students are in class on campus on Wednesdays and Thursdays and are not permitted to complete hours during those days)
Week 1: Saturday, November 1- Tuesday, November 4
Week 2: Friday, November 7- Tuesday, November 11
Week 3: Friday, November 14- Tuesday, November 18
Week 4: Friday, November 21 - Tuesday, November 25* Thanksgiving Break- No Class scheduled, can complete hours on Wednesday & Thursday
Week 5: Friday, November 28- Tuesday, December 2
Week 6: Friday, December 5- Sunday, December 7
Makeup Day: One makeup day must be scheduled at the beginning of the preceptor rotation. This day will be used in the event of inclement weather or the preceptor calling in/being unavailable during a scheduled preceptor day.
