Perform Accurate Venipuncture and Specimen Collection:
Utilize proper technique and safety precautions to complete venipuncture and collect the correct specimens for the ordered labs (CBC, CMP, Hgb A1C, Thyroid Panel).
Document and Report Findings Accurately:
Record the procedure details, patient responses, and any complications in the patient’s medical record, and promptly report abnormal findings or concerns to the supervising nurse or physician.
Provide Patient Education and Ensure Follow-Up Care:
Educate the patient on the purpose of the lab tests, what to expect after the procedure, and any necessary follow-up steps or care instructions.
