Young Authors Conference

2022 Authors!

Marcy Campbell has been making books since she was five, when they were just taped together pages of pictures she drew with the few words she could spell (or almost spell). Her new book The More You Give is a modern-day response to The Giving Tree, this lyrical picture book shows how a family passes down love from generation to generation, leaving a legacy of growing both trees and community.

As seen on ESPN and Hallmark Channel, Jeff Alt walked the entire Appalachian Trail, over 2,000 miles! His latest book The Adventures of Bubba Jones is a series that crisscrosses the country, taking kids on an educational, time-travelling adventure through America’s beloved National Parks.

Jerzy Drozd is a cartoonist and teaching artist. He wrote and drew Science Comics: Rockets with my wife, Anne Drozd. He’s a member of the Ohio Arts Council’s Teaching Artist Roster and has a podcast about comics and how to make them. He is currently working on a middle-grade fantasy comic called Baron von Bear and the Case of the Two-Faced Statue.

Tricia Springstubb says she was born a looong time ago, when girls had to wear dresses to school and no one had heard of soccer. I was the oldest of five kids, and there’s a rumor I was very bossy, though you shouldn’t believe everything you hear. Her latest book is called Looking for True. It’s about two unlikely friends who bond over shared compassion for a bereft but lovable dog, they learn what it truly means to find a sense of belonging and identity.

About us

Tri-County Educational Service Center is a public education organization supporting school districts in Wayne, Holmes, and Ashland Counties.  Among many other supports, Tri-County ESC provides student engagement and learning opportunities.  This year's Young Authors' Conference will mark the 50th such anniversary for this student event. For more information about TCESC, click here.

Buckeye Authors’ Book Fair Committee Inc. was created as a nonprofit entity in 1987 in Wooster, Ohio. The organization works exclusively with Ohio authors and illustrators to support literacy projects, including an annual book fair, author lectures, and teacher and student workshops. The annual “Buckeye Book Fair” event is one of Ohio’s premier book fairs and has become the organization’s DBA. Buckeye Book Fair serves thousands of Ohio readers, writers, teachers, students, and families who participate in our programs each year.  For more information about BBF, click here.
