A new mentoring program is coming to Treynor Schools in the spring of 2021. Current 4th graders and 7th graders can apply now for a mentor. Contact me, Mrs. Currin at ccurrin@treynorcardinals.org for more information.

Calling All 4th Graders

Are you interested in having a caring adult mentor meet with you up to one hour every week? Adult mentors are volunteers from the community who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the life of a young person. Mentors are forever friends!

The organization 'Teammates' was founded by Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991 in an effort to provide support and encouragement to school aged youth. The goal of the program is to see youth graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. To reach this goal, youth meet up to one hour per week with a caring adult who serves as a mentor.

BRR! It's cold outside! Remember making creating snowflakes in the classroom this winter? Each snowflake outside is unique, just like you. Create some more snowflakes at home today... inside, where it's nice and warm!

Mindfulness & Body Movement

Mindfulness means paying full attention to something. It means slowing down to really notice what you're doing. When you're mindful, you're taking your time. You're focusing in a relaxed, easy way.

What are you doing to stay RELAXED? Send me a picture message on email and I'll feature your relaxation ideas on this website!

Fifth grader Leighton stays calm and relaxed by hanging out with her dog! She also likes to exercise by taking her dog on long walks or going for a run by herself. Says Leighton, "it's really peaceful and fun!!!"

A Message From Mrs. Currin...

It's normal to feel A LOT of different feelings right now. Make sure you're talking to someone you trust about your feelings. Talking will help you feel better, I promise. You'll be okay.
