Paying for College
IMPORTANT FAFSA Information
Parents and students will each need an FSA ID to electronically sign the FAFSA when it is submitted online. Apply here for your FSA ID.
The FAFSA opens October 1st, and the priority deadline for applying is January 15th.
THS partners with Grayson College to provide students and parents support to complete the FAFSA.

Where else can you look for scholarships?
check with your parent's employer--some offer scholarships to employees' children
check with your church and community organizations, credit unions, insurance agencies, etc.
check with your specific college/university--almost all of them offer scholarships, but pay attention to their deadlines.
Register with one or more scholarship search services. You can set up a profile on these sites and they help find scholarships that match your qualifications.
Register with Raise.me. Most THS students set up a Raise.me account in class, but it's easy to sign up if not. Enter your information and update it each semester to see how being a good student can pay off in the form of a scholarship.
The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation publishes a helpful guide with estimated costs for each college and university in Texas.
WARNING:
Scholarships are FREE! Do not pay someone to search for scholarships for you!
