TCHS STEM Academy
Programs That We Offer
Building & Design Career Pathway
Students enter the Building & Design Career Pathway as sophomores embarking on a three (3) year journey in the field of construction with a concentration in carpentry through the Pre-apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) program. After students complete the program, they will earn their PACT and OSHA-10 certificates that can be used within the industry.
Engineering Pathway
Future TCHS students have the opportunity to participate in either the P-TECH pathway , an accelerated grade 9-14 model program, which is partnered with Mercer County Community College. Students will earn an associates degree in the field of advanced manufacturing or the traditional engineering pathway, which is a three (3) semester program. Thus, giving students exposure to the fields of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Automotive pathway
We've developed an articulation agreement with Mercer County Community College where students enter the Automotive Pathway as sophomores in the hopes to earn their ASE Light Maintenance and Repair (LMR) certification as automotive technicians. This certificate is an industry standard valid for five years with a one year hands-on work experience requirement in maintenance and light repair to qualify.
princeton arcprep program
Princeton University has partnered with TCHS to introduce our high school sophomores to the discipline of architecture through Arc Prep, which is a fully immersive, semester-long college preparatory course.
Trenton to trails partnership
With the help of Mercer County Parks Commission and non-profit partners, seniors from our Building & Design Pathway participate in the Stewardship Awareness program where urban students take trips to diversify their knowledge and awareness of natural resources in the Mercer County Area
solvay big brothers/big sisters mentor program
For over five years, our academy has developed a partnership with Big Brother/Big Sisters of Mercer County and Solvay Chemical company to give a selected group of students an opportunity of mentorship. This program meets twice a month where the students travel to Solvay's headquarters in Princeton to work on developing career readiness skills such as resume writing, CPR training, presentation skills, etc. After the students complete their assigned skill for the day, they get an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with members of the Solvay staff during a mentoring session.
