Welcome from the Chair
On behalf of the Governing Body, I am delighted to welcome you to Tregadillett Primary School.
Our school is a place where we truly believe in “Building Powerful Learners Together.” Our core values—Compassion, Creativity, Courage, Confidence, and Curiosity—are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to weave these into unique learning experiences that inspire every individual across our entire school community.
I have been a parent at Tregadillett for nine years, and I am honored to have recently stepped into the role of Chair of Governors. My long-standing connection to the school as a parent, combined with my professional background in HR within the education sector, gives me a unique perspective on both the "heart" of our school and the "machinery" that makes it successful. When I’m not supporting the school, I enjoy spending time with my family and you will often find me on the rugby field assisting with my children's local team!
The Governing Body is here to provide strategic direction and support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. We focus on ensuring the school continues to improve across all key areas:
Safeguarding & Personnel
Finance & Premises Management
Curriculum & Data
We take a very "hands-on" approach to governance. You will often see us around the school, building our understanding alongside the wonderful staff team and engaging with the children to ensure we are delivering the best possible outcomes.
We really value the views of our parents, staff, and pupils. Open communication is vital to a thriving school, so if you see me on the playground or at an event, please do come and say hello!
If you would like to help the school, either as a governor or by volunteering or assisting our PTFA, please get in touch - we would love to chat to you! I look forward to meeting you throughout the school year.
Kind Regards
Gemma Hicks

Are school Governors paid?
No, school Governors are volunteers.
