This project, under the Transportation Research Board, focuses on creating practical resources to help agencies plan, procure, implement, and maintain transit technologies. By gathering insights from state DOTs and transit providers, we aim to establish a vendor-neutral framework, build agency capacity, and ensure long-term sustainability in transit technology decision-making.
This project focused on making transit more efficient, connected, and accessible through smart technology investments. By assessing current systems, setting clear priorities, and developing a strategic roadmap, the plan helps transit agencies adopt the right tools to improve service and coordination. With an emphasis on practical solutions and real-world impact, it streamlines operations, enhances the rider experience, and strengthens connections between rural and urban transit systems—making public transportation more reliable and user-friendly for communities across Greater Minnesota.
FTA Compliance Monitoring
Services for NYSDOT.
We ensure that NYSDOT subrecipients comply with FTA regulations under Sections 5310, 5311, and related 5307 pass-through funds by conducting thorough compliance reviews, providing technical assistance, and performing risk assessments through on-site and desk reviews. Our team enhances oversight procedures, streamlines workflows, and integrates compliance monitoring into NYSDOT’s broader transit management systems. We also develop and maintain a web-based compliance tracking system to facilitate documentation and communication while offering targeted training and capacity-building sessions to help subrecipients understand and implement FTA requirements effectively.
We worked with Larimer County and the North Front Range MPO to develop a senior transportation implementation plan, addressing mobility challenges for older adults in both urban and rural areas. Our approach focused on enhancing coordination among transportation providers, identifying service gaps, and creating a one call/one click system to streamline ride scheduling and improve access to transportation options. We developed a structured roadmap, outlining implementation strategies, governance structures, and funding opportunities for long-term success.
