The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
NAMI Delaware was founded in 1983 by Simon and Jill Shute along with a group of families desperate for support for their loved ones. Over the years the organization has grown to provide a wide range of awareness, advocacy, support, education and housing to support those affected by mental illness in Delaware.

At the Mental Health Association in Delaware (MHA), we strive to strengthen knowledge, resources and support around mental health and recovery, and create an environment in which everyone feels supported throughout their mental health and recovery journey. We provide trainings in suicide prevention and intervention, mental health first aid, stress management and wellness. Additionally, we provide workforce development and certification training for people who work in the field of peer support. We also facilitate wellness groups statewide. We host the Empowering Community Wellness Symposium, Military and Veterans Mental Health Summit and Higher Education Suicide Prevention Conference, and coordinate National Depression Screening Day activities. We believe that community collaboration is integral to making lasting change. Because of this, we work collaboratively with many different organizations such as the Behavioral Health Consortium and the Delaware Suicide Prevention Coalition, to name a few.

Founder of SCULPT YOUR LIFE® and T’AI CHI CHIH FOR VETERANS, Jessica Lewis advocates health & peace for ALL people — no exceptions. Her deepest commitment, however, is to suicide prevention / postvention, as she is a survivor of a completely unexpected suicide loss within her immediate family. And because Veterans are six times more likely to die by suicide than in combat, their well-being holds a particularly profound place in her heart.

The Queer Art Collective aims to foster community through mutual aid in New Castle County, Delaware and beyond. These efforts are being achieved through hosting different types of events. Some aim to fundraise for both LGBTQIA+ and Arts causes. Others aim to offer accessibility to the arts through hosting workshops led by Queer artists, and through swapping art supplies. We also hope to have events that highlight specific artists in the local community. Through this our goal is to foster a sense of devotion to LGBTQIA+ artists in the area.
