Multiplier Event Yambol

Multiplier Event on the Fashion DIET European project was held in the Cultural and Information Center "Bezisten" of Yambol, Bulgaria on May 19, 2023. The project is co-funded by Erasmus+ program and is dedicated to sustainable fashion. The event was organized by Trakia University team. Trakia University is a partner through the Faculty of Technics and Technologies of Yambol. Over 60 participants attended the event.

Prof. Zlatina Kazlacheva, the leader of the Bulgarian project team, opened the Multiplier Event by highlighting the reasons that led to the emergence of sustainable fashion.

The guests of the event and the members of the Bulgarian team were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Vanya Stoikova, Dean of the Faculty of Technics and Technologies of Yambol and Assoc. Prof. Emil Slavov, Vice-Rector of Project Activities of Trakia University of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.

Prof. Kazlacheva presented the partner universities from Germany and Romania, members of the Bulgarian team, the main aim, activities and results of the project, with accent on the intellectual outputs: Further Education Module (ESD Module); Information & E-Learning Portal; and Teaching and Learning Material.

Assoc. Prof. Zlatin Zlatev presented E-Learning Platform „Glocal Campus“ and Information Portal „Fashion and Textile Database“. A workshop on Information & E-Learning Portal was given.

The Multiplier Event continued with a presentation on “The Slow Fashion” by Krasimira Genova and “Zero Waste Fashion Design” by Irina Ruseva, PhD students of Fashion Design and Pattern Making at the Faculty of Technics and Technologies.

Prof. Zlatina Kazlacheva, Dr. Julieta Ilieva and Dr. Petya Dineva presented themes from the "Further Education Module (ESD Module)" and "Teaching and Learning Material".

Dr. Julieta Ilieva focused on the slow fashion, sustainable silhouettes in womenswear, shaping silhouettes with the help of other sustainable elements, and applying golden and Fibonacci geometry in fashion and textile design.

Prof. Zlatina Kazlacheva presented the long life sustainable fashion elements, design and pattern making of women's clothes with sustainable fashion element drape, application of golden geometry and Fibonacci geometry in pattern making, design, pattern designs with minimal consumption of material and minimal remainder.

Dr. Petya Dineva presented design and pattern making women's clothes with a sustainable fashion element peplum, designs combined peplums and sustainable three-dimensional elements, and designs using the shibori technique.

During the event, an exhibition of sustainable clothes and fashion accessories was presented. The exposed designs were from a sustainable fashion competition, organized  on the occasion of the Faculty of Technics and Technologies Celebration Day within the the project.

The presentations and the exhibition caused great interest, fruitfull discussions, exchange of information and ideas for future work.
