I have three main rules for the classroom. I believe that in order to have respect from others, it needs to be given as well. Which is why the order of the rules are as follows:
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Kind
Being responsible and following directions go hand-in-hand. I expect students to follow directions which in turn, shows responsibility. And lastly, kindness and respectfulness goes a long way in my classroom!
BAM Board: A behavioral system we use in second grade is the BAM board.
B = Behavior
A=Assignments
M= Materials
Students will receive a B for inappropriate/unacceptable behavior or not following directions. They will receive an A for not completing assignments or not staying on task. They will receive an M for forgetting materials such as AR book, planner, and/or folder. If a student gets four letters throughout the week, or three Bs, they miss out on reward for that week. Reward will take place on Friday at the end of the day. Reward may consist of extra recess, free time in the classroom, Chromebooks, etc. Each week the BAM board starts over.
