Hello and welcome to the counselor's corner!  This space is developed to best support you and your student as they journey through their academic careers.  My job as your student's school counselor is to support them both emotionally, socially, and academically to promote success in both the classroom and life.  It is my joy to help your students grow into the best versions of themselves. Before becoming a school counselor, my career began with working with children in the foster care system after gaining my Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a Youth and Family Advocacy Concentration from Nicholls State University in 2006.  This eventually led to me getting my alternative teaching certificate from iTeach Louisiana several years later.  After teaching for 9 years both 2nd and 3rd grade,  I earned my Master of Education degree in School Counseling (2022) from NSU.  In 2023, I accepted the position of School Counselor at Village East Elementary as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor while gaining hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.  It is my passion to help and serve those in need.
