Disclaimer: This blog is a means for me to record, survey, and document the ups and downs of my role as an Assistant Principal. Any names will be changed to protect privacy. I love my job; this blog is not intended to cast a negative light.
Hi! I am a wife and mom of two boys, Cullen (11) and Jaxson (6). We love to spend time with family, play video games, watch movies, and take care of chickens!
I am currently an Assistant Principal in a middle school with grades 5th-8th. I have 18 years of experience teaching 1st-8th grade. I love to read and craft.
My goal is to become an Educational Diagnostician. I want to help students, parents, teachers and schools to diagnose learning deficits and devise plans to help students become more successful.
When I was a kid, I used to wonder why my parents wanted to nap all the time. ****I get it now! Adulting is hard!
When I was a classroom teacher, I used to wonder why the principal would be so nice to the students I sent to the office. ****I get it now!
Dad jokes keep me going daily! Enjoy a few below!
Today I am reminded of the quote, "Some days you are the statue, some days you are the pigeon." Today, I feel like the statue that is constantly getting pooped on. Today, we had four teachers out of school and only one sub. Today, teachers that are at school are tired, tired of others being lax at work, tired of others missing so much school, tired of students misbehaving, tired of constantly being asked to do "one more thing."
Today is supposed to be a fun day, Twosday, 2/22/22- Tutus and Ties! I will not let the pigeons ruin my day! Today, I will not blow my lid!
