The iPad screen Recorder is a tool built into iPadOS. You can screen record a video of almost any app or screen on your iPad. Screen recordings are great for showing off apps, recording action in a game, or showing how to perform a task.

How to record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then tap next to Screen Recording.

2. Swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen or swipe down from the upper-right corner (depending on which iOS version you have or if it is a phone)

3. Long-press on the Screen Recording button (loos like a bull's eye)

4. Turn on your mic (should be red)

5. Select where you want to record - usually Photos

6. Options may include Photos, Meet, Messenger, depending on what you have installed on your iPad.

7. Tap Start Recording, then wait for the three-second countdown.

8. To end, tap the red stats bar at the top of your screen or open the Control Center and tap the red Screen Recording.

9. The maximum screen recording time is 15 minutes.

If you try to record in apps like Netflix, the screen will go black as they don't allow any recording of its content. Is it illegal to record part of a YouTube video? Yes! You can not record content without permission. This is copyright infringement.
