Google Meet

Google Hangouts Meet, or just Meet, is Google's enterprise video conferencing software. This app is similar to the video calls in the free, consumer version of Hangouts, with a few additional features like real-time captions and support for up to 250 participants and 100,000 live stream viewers. Google Meet allows groups to connect through video, audio, chat or dial in. Users can easily share screens as they connect. Meets should be used in the Google Chrome browser.

You'll book appointments first in Google Calendar, then open meet.google.com and jump on the call when it's time.

Whiteboard Integration

While Google Meet does not have true whiteboard integration, it is easy to add whiteboards using screenshare and an online whiteboard application. Below is a video from Eric Curts (ControlAltAchieve) demonstrating how to use the Chrome Canvas and Google Jamboard.

Integrating Google Hangouts Meet into Google Classroom

Google has added features to make it easier to post Google Meet links in Google Classroom. In fact, now you can now have a Google Meet link permanently assigned to each of your classrooms with Google Classroom. This means that you can have the same meeting link for an entire semester or year. If you have more than one classroom, you will have to use a different Meet link for each of them.
