History of The Buckeye Children/Teen Book Award program:
Established in 1981 for children's books only, though the collaborative effort of different Ohio and library supportive programs. The Teen's book award was added in 2003. What makes this award unique is that the only adults who may submit nominations are teachers and librarians who are representing a group of students.
