Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
2023 District Leadership Meeting
2023 District Leadership Meeting
Thompson FCCLA members attended the District 3 Leadership Meeting in Grand Forks. Members were able to hear from a CVIC representative as a keynote speaker and attend different breakout sessions featuring local business owners. The Thompson Chapter also made six tie blankets that were donated to a local organization and brought items to donate to the Hope Church Food Pantry. Thompson members were able to build on their leadership skills, strengthen relationships within the chapter, and network with other chapters.
2023 District 3 STAR Event Competition
Congratulations to the following members who participated in the District 3 STAR Events Competition!
Grace and Josie did an awesome job serving as a student judge and timer. Rylee received a Bronze in Professional Presentation.
The follow competitors will advance to the state STAR Event Competition:
Jacob, Isaak, and Cameron with a Silver in National Programs in Action.
Evy and Katie with a Gold in Food Innovations.
Kaylee and Kiera with a Gold in Professional Presentation.
Faith, Katelyn, and Sarah with a Gold in Event Management.
Makenna with a Gold in Interior Design.
Kasia with a Gold in Focus on Children.
2022 District Leadership Meeting
2022 District Leadership Meeting
Thompson FCCLA members attended the District 3 Leadership Meeting in Grand Forks. Members had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions focused on family businesses, personal safety, FCS education, and STAR Events. The Thompson chapter also donated food items to the Hope Church Food Pantry and made six fleece tie blankets to be donated to a local organization. Thompson won the Chapter of the Day Award, which is based on enthusiasm, participation, and respect shown throughout the meeting.
