2023年8月7日～18日の12日間、群馬県館林市役所において2名の留学生がインターンシップに参加しました。参加学生は職業体験や調査研究を通して、館林市が抱える「移住・定住」の促進という課題に解決策を提案する「課題解決型インターンシップ」に取り組みました。

学生たちは日本遺産に指定されている「里沼」を訪問したり、博物館施設を視察したり、地元企業を訪問し、館林市の文化資源、産業資源について学びを深めました。市役所内では、人口減少対策などの地域課題に取り組む市役所業務について担当者から講義を受けました。

From August 7 to 18, 2023, two international students participated in a 12-day internship program at Tatebayashi City Hall, Gunma Prefecture. Through work experience and research, the students engaged in a problem-solving internship that proposes solutions to the issue of promoting "migration and settlement" facing Tatebayashi City.

The students visited Satonuma, which is designated as a Japan Heritage site, museums and local businesses, learning more about the cultural and industrial resources of Tatebayashi City. At city hall, they received a lecture from staff in charge on city hall's tasks to address local issues, such as depopulation.

最終日には「移住・定住」促進策として、海外のソーシャルネットワーキングサービスを活用した広報戦略、外国人向けの古民家活用、本学板倉キャンパスを使った日本語学校、専門学校の創設などのアイデアを、多田善洋市長、野口一幸副市長はじめ、館林市役所の皆さまがたに提案しました。

On the final day, they offered ideas to promote migration and settlement, such as public relations strategies using overseas social networking services, utilization of old private houses for foreigners and establishment of a Japanese language school and vocational school using Toyo University’s Itakura Campus, to Mayor Yoshihiro Tada, Deputy Mayor Kazuyuki Noguchi and the staff at Tatebayashi City Hall.

参加学生は本インターンシップを通して、日々の学習・研究の成果を最大限に活用し、館林市が抱える現実的な課題についての学びを深め、自らの意見を日本語で共有することができました。現地での体験を通じて、これからの学生生活、キャリア形成に活かしていくことを願っています。

本インターンシップは群馬県館林市との連携協力に関する包括協定に基づき、文部科学省「令和4年度 大学の世界展開力強化事業－インド太平洋地域等との大学間交流形成支援－」の活動の一環として行われました。

Through this internship, the participating students were able to make the most of the results of their daily studies and research, deepen their knowledge of the real issues facing Tatebayashi City, and share their own opinions in Japanese. We hope that they will leverage this experience for their student life and career development in the future.

Based on a comprehensive partnership agreement with Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, the internship program was implemented as part of the “FY2022 Inter-University Exchange Project: Creation of Inter-University Exchanges in the Indo-Pacific Region” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
