2023年6月5日（月）日本時間の18:00～19:00、東洋大学とイギリス・ウェールズ地方にあるカーディフ大学が初めての国際学生ミーティングをオンラインで開催しました。

今回は、カーディフ大学からは発表者2名、東洋大学からは発表者7名、一般参加者7名の合計14名が参加しました。

カーディフ大学の日本語担当教員3名と本学グリーンの挨拶で始まったイベントは、まずウォームアップ活動として、お互いの学生同士が英語と日本語の早口言葉を教えあいました。

On Monday, June 5, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (JST), Toyo University and Cardiff University in Wales, UK, held their first International Student Meeting (ISM) online.

Two presenters from Cardiff University and 14 people from Toyo University (seven presenters and seven general participants) participated.

The event started with greetings from three Japanese language teachers from Cardiff University and Steven Green, a lecturer from Toyo University, followed by students teaching each other tongue twisters in English and Japanese as a warm-up activity. 

"Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear, fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair, Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn’t very fuzzy, was he?"

"How can a clam cram in a clean cream can?"

学生たちは、これらの早口言葉を試していましたが、初見でスラスラ口にするのはお互いに困難なようでした。練習あるのみですね！

その後、参加者はそれぞれ自己紹介、自分の大学と学生生活について5分のプレゼンテーションを行いました。それぞれの発表やその後のQ&Aを通じて、東洋とカーディフの学生たちが互いの生活を理解することができ、親交が深まりました。 

The students experimented with the tongue twisters, but each seemed to have difficulty reading them aloud at first glance without making a mistake. 

After the activity, the participants introduced themselves and gave a five-minute presentation about their university and student life. Through each presentation and the Q&A that followed, the students from Toyo and Cardiff University were able to understand each other's lives and deepen their friendship. 

参加者の皆さんの積極的なコミュニケーションで東洋大学とカーディフ大学の関係が深まりました。秋学期にもカーディフ大学と2回目の国際学生ミーティングの実施を検討しています。皆さんのご参加をお待ちしております。（講師：グリーン・スティーブン）

Proactive communication among the participants strengthened the relationship between Toyo University and Cardiff University. Toyo University is considering holding a second ISM with Cardiff University in the fall semester. I am looking forward to your participation. (Lecturer: Steven Green)
