The International Student Meeting Held Online with Darma Persada University
2023年6月10日（土）に、東洋大学とインドネシア・ダルマプルサダ大学との国際学生ミーティングが開催されました。
国際学生ミーティングは、東洋大学と世界の協定校の学生をオンラインで結び実施されている新しい国際交流活動です。
ダルマプルサダ大学とは今回で８回目のミーティングとなりました。前回から学生有志が学生リーダーとなり、相手校の学生と事前ミーティングを行いながら、自分たちで準備と運営を行なっています。土曜日の午後の時間帯ではありましたが、双方の関係者71名が参加しました。
The International Student Meeting between Toyo University and Darma Persada University in Indonesia was held on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
As a new form of international exchange, the International Student Meeting is being held with students from Toyo University and its partner universities around the world connected online.
This was the eighth meeting with Darma Persada University. Since the previous meeting, student volunteers have served as student leaders, preparing and running the event by themselves while holding pre-meetings with students from the partner university. Even though it was held on Saturday afternoon, 71 participants from both sides attended the latest meeting.
参加者の半数以上が一年生だったこともあり、ミーティングではまず、「24時間以内に起こった良いことをあげよう」というテーマでアイスブレイク活動を行いました。初めて参加した学生も多かったようですが、「昨日友達と長電話した」「好きなアニメの新しいエピソードが公開された」などユニークな意見が出され、少しずつ緊張をほぐしていきます。
Since more than half of the participants were freshmen, the meeting began with an ice-breaking activity with the theme of "Introduce the good things that happened within the last 24 hours." Although many students appeared to be first-time participants in the meeting, unique opinions such as "I had a long phone call with a friend of mine yesterday" and "A new episode of my favorite anime was released" gradually eased their tension.
その後、「課外活動」「将来のこと」「外国語を勉強するときに重視すること」「心に残る忘れられない本・映画」「子供時代の話」というテーマごとに、５つのブレイクアウトルームにわかれ、70分の意見交換を行いました。それぞれ事前に準備したスライドを共有し、自由に話しながらお互いの社会や文化についての理解を深めました。
After that, five breakout rooms were created for each of the themes of extracurricular activities, future plans, things to focus on when studying a foreign language, memorable and unforgettable books and movies, and childhood stories, where they exchanged opinions for 70 minutes. Each student shared slides they prepared in advance and deepened their understanding of each other's society and culture while speaking freely.
最後には、各グループのリーダーがセッションで学んだことを報告し全体で共有しました。子供時代の経験についてインドネシアと日本で同じような遊びがあることに気づいたなど、新たな発見とともに、あっという間だったという意見も出され、多くの参加者が交流活動を楽しんだ様子が伝わってきました。
At the end of the meeting, the leaders of each group reported what they had learned in the session and shared it with all participants. Participants made new discoveries through the meeting. For example, from the opinion exchange on the theme of childhood stories, they learned that there are similar games in Indonesia and Japan. Some also shared their opinion that time flew so fast, suggesting that many participants enjoyed the exchange activities.
今回のミーティングに参加してくれた皆さんが、今後も国際交流や海外学習への興味を深めていってくれることを期待しています。
