The 11th International Symposium on Bioscience and Nanotechnology

On 14th November, the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre held a workshop for young researchers at the new building on the Kawagoe campus.

On 15th November, about 300 visitors attended the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre’s 11th International Symposium on Bioscience and Nanotechnology at the Inoue Enryo Hall at the Toyo University Hakusan campus. You can see the lectures presented at the symposium on GEOSET TOYO.

Sir Harry Kroto, 1996 Nobel laureate in chemistry and the school’s scientific advisor led a series of presentations by eminent researchers on their respective advanced studies. The eminent researchers were:

Raymond Whitby(University of Brighton,Uk), Règine Perzynski(Université Pierre et Marie Curie(Paris6), France), Murukeshan Vadakke Matham(Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), B.R.Mehta(Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India), Krisztina László, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary),

Leonid Kalachev(University of Montana, USA),

Mohan V. Jacob(James Cook University, Australia),

Chris Ewels(Université de Nantes, France),

P.V. Mohanan(Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, India)

A poster session was held in front of the Inoue Enryo Hall and young researchers and students eagerly explained their studies to the participants.

At break time, Sir Harry Kroto was signing copies of his children’s book: “nano te nan nano,” “What is Nano?”.
