Please introduce yourself and your university.
My name is Nur Suhaili Abd Aziz and I’m a second year doctoral student in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur. I belong to Advanced Device and Material Engineering research group in Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT). MJIIT is one of the institute in UTM which is branched in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The main campus for UTM is located in Johor. MJIIT is a hybridized higher education system in which it employs combination of Malaysian and Japanese education style. We have both Malaysian and Japanese staffs working together to achieve world class quality in academic world.
What is your recent research topic?
My research is focused on the synthesis of silver nanoparticles decorated on reduced graphene oxide and its application as photodetector.
What is your motivation to do research?
The main motivation to do research is to contribute new idea and technology to mankind.
Please tell us about your life in Malaysia.
My hometown is in Melaka, the most historical city in Malaysia. There are a lot of attraction for tourists in Melaka because mainly Melaka is for tourism. I lived in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is also the main attraction in Malaysia due to its modern life. There are Petronas twin tower and KL tower which are the famous attraction, well-known by many tourists.
Please tell us the impression of research at BNERC and life at Toyo University.
I was impressed with the warm welcome from BNERC team, not only from lecturers but also staffs and students. My coworkers are very helpful as they always give suggestions, share ideas and also provide assistance with experimental works. Although I only spend short time in BNERC, I learned lots of new knowledge which is necessary for my research. I am frequently assisted by technicians in charge whenever I need to handle complex equipment and instruments. The facilities are pleasant and easily accessible and we usually are not required to get into queues because they have plenty equipment in BNERC.
