Susan Brustein has been a STEM advocate her entire life.  She started in education as the only female Chemistry teacher at Stuyvesant High School, where some of her additional hats included those of program chair and yearbook editor.  She came to Townsend Harris as the AP in 2001, and she has worked to increase the variety of courses and extracurricular opportunities available to our students.  These include teaching the Organic Chemistry elective for many years, and she is still working with the Science Research students to help them prepare for competition and beyond.  Under her leadership, the successful US FIRST Robotics and Science Olympiad Clubs have changed counless students' lives.  As the AP of MST, she also helped ensure that the school's Math Team had a successful launch.
