Bianca L. Torres was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, to parents who immigrated to the United States from Mexico as children. Growing up, she witnessed firsthand how immigration laws—especially during the SB1070 era—negatively impacted her community. These early experiences inspired her to pursue a career in immigration law and dedicate her life to helping others navigate the complex immigration system.
After graduating from Mesa High School, Mrs. Torres earned her Associate’s Degree from Mesa Community College. She then transferred to Arizona State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a Certificate in Civic Education, graduating in May 2013. She was the first in her family to graduate from a four-year university.
Mrs. Torres went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, through their hybrid program, which allowed her to study while remaining in Arizona. During law school, she gained hands-on experience through internships with Phoenix-based immigration attorneys.
She has extensive experience in:
Family-based petitions before USCIS
Representing clients in removal proceedings before EOIR (Immigration Court)
Legal writing for USCIS, EOIR, and appellate bodies including the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
