Christelle Tessono (she/her) conducts research at the intersections of digital technology, human rights, and governance. As a result, this has led her to work on a variety of projects related to political advertising on social media platforms, gig work, facial recognition technology, privacy and AI policy. Prior to joining the Dais, Christelle was an Emerging Scholar at Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy (CITP) as part of a two-year research fellowship. Additionally, she worked at the House of Commons of Canada, where supported the legislative work of two Members of Parliament as part of the non-partisan Parliamentary Internship Program (PIP).
Christelle is from Montréal and holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from McGill University. She is currently pursuing her graduate studies at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information.
Blair Attard-Frost (they/them) is an interdisciplinary researcher, lecturer, and writer. As a PhD Candidate and SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholar at the University of Toronto, Blair applies a transfeminist lens to investigate how and why Canadians govern artificial intelligence. Blair teaches courses on AI ethics & AI policy at the Faculty of Information and the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, advises organizations on AI policy, and advocates for community-led AI governance. Blair's storytelling combines speculative fiction, surrealism, and transgender politics to explore potential futures of AI governance. Blair's work has been featured in many outlets, including Government Information Quarterly, Midnight Sun Magazine, Tech Policy Press, The Globe and Mail, AI and Ethics, and the International Journal of Information Management. All of Blair's work is informed by their experience working as a queer/trans information management professional in public sector, post-secondary, and startup environments for over a decade.

Lawrence Zhang (he/him) is the Head of Policy at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation's Centre for Canadian Innovation and Competitiveness. His research focuses on Canadian technology and innovation policy.
Previously, he served as an advisor to several Canadian cabinet ministers at both the federal and provincial levels, where he advised on key issues relating to industrial and innovation policy. He holds a Master of Public Policy and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto.

Derek Slater (he/him) is a tech policy strategist focused on media, communications, and information policy. Previously, he helped build Google’s public policy team from 2007-2022, serving as the Global Director of Information Policy during the last three years. He led a global team of subject matter experts on access to information, content regulation, and online safety, and testified before legislators in the US, UK, and elsewhere around the globe.
