Learning is FUN!📚
Essential Keys to make learning fun.Â
These concepts help connect learning to students’ lives and communities. Funds of Knowledge are the skills and knowledge students gain from their family and community experiences. While Background Knowledge is what students already know about a topic, which supports understanding new information. Both Social Justice and Environmental Justice focus on fairness and equity in society and the environment, helping students recognize and address inequalities. Lastly, Cultural Connections allow students to relate learning to their own traditions, experiences, and identities, making education more meaningful and relevant.Â
Classrooms are social settings. Together, students and myself create the classroom community, and the type of community we create strongly influences the learning that takes place. I want my classroom community to feel safe and respectful so students are motivated to learn and engaged in reading and writing activities. Teachers are a vital part of students overall educational journey. It is necessary for all us to respect one another and support each other’s learning. With this approach students will learn to value culturally and linguistically diverse classmates and recognize that everyone makes important contributions.
