Course Description

Animal science is a class for the student interested in the care and production of livestock animals. In this class you will learn livestock literacy, beef, dairy, swine, sheep, goat, horse, and poultry production. We will also complete studies in animals nutrition, digestion and reproduction.

Permission of instructor in order to obtain an additional elective credit.

Option of obtaining an additional elective credit is offered for successfully raising and showing a steer, lamb, or pig at the Central Washington Junior Livestock Show. This course is for students who are interested in raising an animal for the Central Washington Junior Livestock Show. Instructional areas include, Beef, Sheep and Swine management, record keeping. Livestock reproduction, nutrition, marketing and other cultural practices unique to the livestock industry.
