CAN I WALK MY CHILD TO CLASS?

Per our safety protocols, campus is restricted to staff and scholars only during drop off and pick up time. Parents are not permitted to walk on campus during drop off or pick up time. If you choose to park in a designated parking space, you may say your goodbyes at the cross walk and scholars will cross and walk to class independently. Using the car drop off lanes are preferred in order to limit the parking lot traffic.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY CHILD?

Anyone checking out a child from school must be listed on the emergency contact list.
This list can be updated by a parent/guardian in person only. Please bring proof of ID.

WHAT DO I DO IF OUR PICK UP PLAN CHANGES?

If something comes up during the day and you need to change the plan for your child's dismissal procedure, please follow the procedures below:

To make a change with advanced notice, 24 hours in advance, please email your child's teacher directly. Provide specific information about how they will dismiss from school and who they will leave with.
To make an emergency change, same day, you must call the front office (623) 327-3111. There is no guarantee that teachers will be able to check their email during the school day. In order to ensure the message is received, contact the front office. *Please note that school dismissal begins at 3:55, changes made after 3:30 may not be communicated in time.

What do I do if I have a Scholar taking the Shuttle?

PM K - 5th Grade Scholars Waiting for Siblings on the Shuttle

Any scholar that will be picked up by their OIder sibling arriving on the shuttle must have a signed Walk Wavier on file.
Scholars will be supervised in the Gym until the shuttle arrives. OIder siblings will be responsible for picking up their Apache campus sibling upon arriving to campus. Older siblings will then be responsible for escorting their siblings off campus.
If you prefer to pick up your K-5 scholar in the car pick up lane at regular dismissal time, please follow the procedure provided above.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM UNABLE TO ARRIVE BY 4:15?

Scholars not picked up by 4:15PM will be checked into the aftercare for a fee. To contact AZ AfterCare for general questions, or outside of daycare hours, please email, azaftercarellc@gmail.com

Drop off Process

Arrival Times

Arrive between 6 AM and 7:00AM

Scholars report to the gym for the paid Before Care program. Any scholar dropped off on campus prior to 7:00AM will be supervised in this program and charged the fee.

Arrive between 7:00AM and 7:15AM

Drop off in either the front lanes or back lanes, scholars report directly to their building doors and enter their class rooms beginning at 7:15 AM.

Drop Off Lanes

You may use the front or back lanes for drop off, follow the timelines above.
Follow the direction of staff and pull all the way forward in line.
Do NOT stop to drop your scholar off at the walk gate. They will exit the vehicle and walk to the nearest gate to enter campus.
Remain in your vehicle, staff will be present to guide your child to their homeroom.

Kinder AM (Half Day) Pick Up Process

AM Kinder - Front of School Dismissal

Arrive no earlier than 11:20AM, scholars will begin to dismissal at 11:25 AM.
Please follow the flow of traffic and follow all staff directions.

Kinder PM Drop Off

PM Kinder - Front of School Drop off

Arrive no earlier than 11:45AM, scholars will be allowed to enter the campus at 11:50 AM
Please park and walk your scholar to the kinder gate where staff will help guide them in.

Kinder 2 PM Pick Up Process

AM Kinder - Front of School Dismissal

Arrive no earlier than 1:50 PM, scholars will begin to dismissal at 1:55 PM.
Please follow the flow of traffic and follow all staff directions.

Mrs. Marta, Mrs. G & 1st Grade @ 3:50 PM

Mrs. Marta, Mrs. G. & First Grade pick-up begins promptly at 3:50 PM in the front of the school. This pick-up time is only for Marta, Mrs. G and 1st grade scholars who do not have siblings to be picked up later. If you have an older scholar your younger scholar will wait in a supervised area and be released with the older scholars pick up time. Example: If you have a kinder and 5th grader, your kinder will wait until the 5th graders pick up time and join them for pick up.

No cars will be allowed in the parking lot or on campus before 3:45 PM. If you arrive and attempt to park on campus before that time, you will be asked to move.

When picking up your scholar, please use Alta Vista heading west. When you reach the school, turn left to proceed to the front of the building. In front of the school, you will be able to form two lines.

Please make sure your pick-up sign is clearly displayed in your car window.

Mrs. Delph, Mr. Parks, Mrs. Cosgrove, Ms. Lewis

2nd & 3rd Grade

Pick Up Begins @ 3:55 PM

Mrs. Delph, Mr. Parks, Inspire, 2nd & 3rd Grade Pick-Up will begin promptly at 3:55 PM in the back of the school.

If you have a Kindergarten or 1st grade scholar who needs to join an older sibling, they will be matched up on campus and will then walk together to the oldest sibling’s pick-up location.

Example: If you have a Kindergartener and a 2nd grader, they will meet on campus and then head to the 2nd grade pick-up location.

Back of School (enter by heading east on Alta Vista – Blue Arrow) Right hand turns only:

Mrs.Delph, Mr. Parks & 2nd Grade: Back of the school, east side of the road
3rd Grade & Mrs. Cosgrove & Ms. Lewis: Back of the school, west side of the road

4th & 5th Grade Pick Up @ 4:00 PM

4th & 5th Grade Pick-Up will begin promptly at 4:00 PM in the front of the school.

If you have a scholar in Kindergarten,1st grade, 2nd, or 3rd grade scholar who needs to join an older sibling, they will be matched up on campus and will then walk together to the oldest sibling’s pick-up location.

Example: If you have a Kindergartener and a 5th grader, they will meet on campus and then head to the 5th grade pick-up location.

4th Grade: Front of the school, south side
5th Grade: Front of the school, north side

Walkers & Bus Riders

Walkers

Scholars that will walk to and from school must have a completed Walk Wavier Link on file. If you have more than one scholar that will walk off campus each individual child will need a walk wavier.
Walkers will dismiss at 4PM
Scholars that are waiting for an older sibling from OI/High School will head to the ramada until the busses arrive. When the busses arrive they will meet their older sibling and walk off campus. If they remain on campus they will be asked to check into our aftercare program at an additional cost.
Scholars with older siblings from OI/High School waiting to be picked up must have a completed walk wavier on file.
Parents that walk to pick their scholar up during dismissal must wait on the east side of campus and will not be permitted to cross the drive lane. Campus is closed during dismissal and we do not permit anyone other than staff to be on foot standing outside our fence perimeter.
Scholars may exit campus on Alta Vista.

Bus Riders

Scholars that ride the bus home will be supervised in the back ramada at dismissal, until the buses arrive from the OI campus.
Odyssey Apache scholars waiting to be picked up by middle school or high schoolers will wait in the ramada until thier older scholar arrives. After thier older scholar arrives they must immediatley leave campus or check in to aftercare. After the traffic program has ended on campus no scholars can linger on campus.
Buses typically arrive around 4:10PM, please contact the transportation department directly for any questions related to bus services.

Aftercare

All scholars on campus ( including Jr. High and High School scholars) will have to check into aftercare if they want to remain on campus after 4:15 PM.

What happens Next?

Now that you know the pick-up plan, you do not need to sign up for anything unless your child will be a walker or has a sibling. If your child will be walking home, you must complete the walker waiver. Walk Wavier Link

Otherwise, you will receive your pick-up signs from your scholars homeroom teacher at Back-to-School Night on August 6th, 2026.
