Tom specializes in relationship management, business development, and content strategy for the scientific, technical, and medical (STM) publishing industry. He runs a consultancy that works with tech startups and STM publishers. In 2019 Tom relocated to Chicago after three years in London overseeing global publisher accounts for a multinational data analytics firm.

Responsibilities included helping these organizations discover competitive and financial efficiencies for their content and generating leads for new partnership opportunities.
Accounts under management included media groups (The New York Times Company); academic societies (American Medical Association, Royal Society of Chemistry); and a number of leading STM publishers, including Open Access publishers.

Managed strategic accounts, fostering relationships with key publishers providing a high volume of content for Web of Science, a multidisciplinary collection of influential scholarly research (journals, books, and conference proceedings).
