When can a student start to take college credit courses? AP options start Freshman year and Dual Credit options start Junior year.
What if a student wants to play multiple sports? Students pick the sport that starts first in the school year, and as the year progresses and the sport changes, the appropriate schedule change will occur.
If a student chooses a marching band, will it count for 2 credits? Marching band is 1 credit per year as a Fine Art or P.E.
Can a student take computer programming as a language credit? Computer science can be approved, but check with your preferred college(s) for admission requirements. Some colleges/universities allow the substitution and some do not.
If a student takes band do you have to join the marching band? Yes
In terms of college acceptance, is it better for students to take AP classes and earn "B's" or on-level classes and earn "A's"? Advanced placement classes are better for college applications due to the rigor of the content.
Can a student take summer school between 8th and 9th grade? Yes! They can take PE (0.5 credit for 1 summer school session). Students can earn up to 1.0 credits during the summer school program. Summer school registration occurs in May.
