Greeters and Readers
This is a volunteer opportunity for Kinder and 1st grade classrooms. During the months of Oct-Dec, we are asking for parent volunteers to cover morning arrival in all K/1 classrooms on Tues/Wed/Thur each week from 8am until 8:45-9:00am- time depending on the plans of the teacher. This opportunity will allow for the teachers to provide additional reading instruction in small groups as students arrive first thing in the morning. The parent volunteer will stand at the door and greet students upon arrival, help the class get settled and unpacked for morning announcements, and after announcements read a book to the class. We are asking that at sign up the volunteer commit to all 3 days of the week they sign up for to provide consistency for the class.
