Opening with Kaylin singing the national anthem and closing with the 4 by 4 relay qualifying for the state open championship, Tolland Girls Track and Field had a successful day -- and night -- at the Class M State Championship, scoring 20 points and placing 11th of 44 teams.  Congratulations to Aiyanna, Ella,  and Captains Amelia and Hannah for advancing, and congratulations also to point scorers Anna, Becca, Belén, and Captains Emma and Lily Byam.  Thanks go to team spirited Lenah, Penelope, and Lilly Brody for contributing to the cause.  Next up, State Open and Heptathlon.

In track and field, don't discount the field events!  And so it was that the jumpers (Jenna, Penny, Hoppy, Brody, Kaitlyn, Evie, Ava, Livie, and Grace) and the throwers (Belen and Sophia) led Tolland on their continued undefeated ways, prevailing over East Catholic and East Hartford yesterday.  The mid-distance crew of Anna, Becca, Amelia, Meghan, Lily Byam, and Jocelyn did work in their multiple events, and most impressive was Lenah in the thirty-two hundred for her exhausting 3 points that were a huge difference in the final score.  Congratulations to the so-far seven and oh Tolland Girls Track And Field team.
