Girls Indoor Recap

2/10/2024

The Boys and Girls Indoor T&F teams both competed at the Class-M State Championship Meet this past Saturday and came away with many impressive performances. All of our athletes were excellent competitors and put some of their best performances out on the track and in the field to finish up on an excellent season for many of our athletes. There were many impressive performances on the track and in the field, and several of our athletes and relays scored & medaled including the girls 4x800 relay team of Amelia Luetjen, Rebecca Langlais, Anna Silliman and Lilly Brody, Dillon Stoeffler in the 1000, Colby Bornstein in the 1600 & 3200, Cole Zocco in the Shot Put, Chris Adadjo in the 100, and the boys SMR & 4x400 relay teams consisting of Andrew Lamp, Jonathan Adadjo, Chris Adadjo and Dillon Stoeffler.

The Boys Team finished 5th overall in Class-M and the Girls Team tied for 28th at the meet. Congratulations to Colby Bornstein for his 1st Place finish in the 1600, also lowering his previously set school record in the event. Colby will be joined by Dillon Stoeffler, Chris Adadjo, Jonathan Adadjo and Andrew Lamp as athletes who have qualified to move on to the State Open Championship next Saturday.

Several Boys & Girls Indoor T&F athletes competed at the NCCC Last Chance Meet and came away with several great performances on the day. Tolland had several new and some improved state qualifying performances, this helps to put our teams into the strongest position possible heading into our Class-M State Championship this coming weekend. Highlights include qualifying performances by Penelope Harrold and Jonathan Adadjo in the 55, Hannah Simpson and Penny Harrold in the 55 Hurdles, Ella Gaskell in the 300, Amelia Luetjen and Cailin McCann in the 600, Rebecca Langlais and Anna Silliman in the 1000, Cole Zocco in the Shot Put, Josh Reid in the Pole Vault and Jenna Vaitses in the Long Jump.

The boys and girls Indoor Track & Field teams both competed at the CCC Championship Meet this past Saturday and came away with many impressive performances on the day. In a meet consisting of 31 CCC teams, the level of competition was the highest it has been for our athletes throughout the indoor track and field season. Our athletes were put to the test and were able to rise to the challenge. There were many impressive performances on the track and in the field, including state qualifying performances the boys and girls 4x200 relay teams, Chris Adadjo in the 55, Penelope Harrold and Josh Reid in the 55 Hurdles, Dillon Stoeffler, Amelia Luetjen, and Anna Silliman in the 1000, Colby Bornstein in the 1600 & 3200, the boys and girls SMR and 4x400 relay teams, Cole Zocco in Shot Put and Penelope Harrold in Pole Vault.

Congratulations to Colby Bornstein for setting a new school record in the boys 3200 at the meet.

The boys team took 3rd place in the CCC-East and finished in 6th place overall.

The girls team came away with a 4th place finish in the CCC-East.

The Tolland Boys and Girls Indoor Track & Field teams competed in their final full-team meet of the season at the UConn fieldhouse on Friday evening. Once again the team had many impressive performances on the track and in the field. The boys and girls teams added additional conference and state qualifiers among numerous personal best performances to finish out the season for some of our athletes. Some highlights include qualifying performances by Chris Adadjo and Belen Bolognani in the 55, Andrew Lamp in the 300 and High Jump, Amelia Luetjen, Anna Silliman, Dillon Stoeffler and Colby Bornstein in the 1000, Penelope Harrold and Josh Reid in the 55 Hurdles and Pole Vault, Jenna Vaitses in Long Jump and the boys 4x400 relay team of Dillon Stoeffler, Chris Adadjo, Andrew Lamp and Jonathan Adadjo. Tolland now prepares for the CCC Championship Meet this Saturday.

The Tolland Boys & Girls Indoor Track & Field Teams competed at the NCCC Invite & Yale Track Classic this past Saturday and continued to make progress adding state qualifying performances and several personal bests on the season at the meet. Tolland athletes once again turned in many impressive performances on the track as well as in the field. Highlights include qualifying performances by Lilly Brody in the High Jump, Jenna Vaitses in Long Jump, Penny Harrold in Pole Vault, Cole Zocco in Shot Put, the boys SMR team of Chris Adadjo, Johnathan Adadjo, Andrew Lamp and Colby Bornstein, the girls 4x400 relay team of Ella Gaskell, Cailin McCann, Lilly Brody and Anna Silliman, the boys 4x800 relay team of Ryan Chater, Mario-Urbina Cruz. Andrew Lamp and Colby Bornstein, the girls 4x800 relay team of Megan Cardin, Amelia Leutjen, Lilly Brody, and Anna Silliman, the boys 4x200 relay team of Chris Adadjo, Jonathan Adadjo, David Buey and Cole Jolly, Dillon Stoeffler in the 1000, and Colby Bornstein setting a school record in the 3000.

The Tolland Boys and Girls Indoor Track & Field Teams competed in their 3rd meet of the season a little closer to home at the Hugh Greer Fieldhouse at UCONN. Tolland athletes once again turned in many impressive performances on the track as well as in the field. Our team had numerous new and improved state and conference qualifying performances and even more personal bests on the season at the meet. Tolland T&F team members have also been excellent at supporting one another at our meets and working to provide a positive experience for all of our athletes. Notable state and conference qualifying performances were achieved by Jenna Vaitses in Long Jump, Josh Reid and Penny Harold in Pole Vault, Lilly Brody & Andrew Lamp in High Jump, Cole Zocco in Shot Put, the girls 4x200 relay team of Belen Bolognani, Ella Gaskel, Hannah Simpson, and Jenna Vaitses, Josh Reid and Hannah Simpson in the 55 meter hurdles, Amelia Luetjen and Colby Bornstein in the 1000, Dillon Stoeffler, Andrew Lamp and Amelia Luetjen in the 600, and Chris Adadjo and Dillon Stoeffler in the 300.

The Tolland Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Field Teams competed in their 2nd developmental meet of the season and turned in many impressive performances on the track as well as in the field adding a significant number of state and conference qualifying performances and even more personal bests on the season at the meet. Highlights include qualifying performances by Hannah Simpson, Belen Bolognani and Chris Adadjo in the 55 meter dash, Josh Reid and Hannah Simpson in the 55 meter Hurdles, Dillon Stoeffler and Chris Adadjo in the 300, Amelia Luetjen and Dillon Stoeffler in the 1000, Cole Zocco in Shot Put, Josh Reid and Penny Harold in Pole Vault, Hannah Simpson in High Jump, Jenna Vaitses in Long Jump and the boys 4x400 relay team of Dillon Stoeffler, Ryan Chater, Chris Adadjo and Andrew Lamp.

The Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Field Teams competed in their first developmental meet of the season at the US Coast Guard Academy and turned in several impressive performances on the track and in the field. Tolland had several state and conference qualifiers in this early season meet including Colby Bornstein & Dillon Stoeffler in the 1600, Chris Adadjo in the 55 and 300, Cole Zocco in the Shot Put and Penelope Harrold in the Pole Vault. Tolland will be back in action again over winter break.
