The Eagles made a last minute surge scoring 5 points in the final minute, but fell just short of the win. Julia Santini and Cecilia Martens were the leading scorers for Tolland.

With the scored tied in the final 2 minutes, Tolland couldn't hold on. Julia Santini had 22 points and 7 steals. Cecilia Martens added 18 points for her season high.

The Tolland girls basketball team opened up their season on the road at Hartford Public. For most of the night they were off to the races, as 30 of their 64 points came in transition. Julia Santini was the lead scorer with 19 points and 9 steals. Sophia Leach had a double double scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds on the night. This Friday, Tolland will play their home opener vs East Catholic at 6:45pm.
